Alexander Pincus is a founding principal of Bureau V. He has taught architecture at Columbia University, the University of Pennsylvania and the University of Kentucky’s College of Design.

Prior to Bureau V, Alex worked at Eisenman Architects, Archi-Tectonics, and Asymptote Architecture. As a senior designer for Asymptote, he designed the international competition winning Budapest Bank Towers in Hungary, the Strata Tower in Abu Dhabi, UAE, and the Volkswagen Knowledge Gate in Wolfsberg, Germany. He also led Asymptote’s collaboration with the Office for Metropolitan Architecture for the competition winning design for the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in Shenzhen, China. Alex ‘s other design work includes furniture pieces for Philips de Pury and the LQ Chandelier for Zumtobel’s Avant Garde Collection, which won Light of the Future at Light+Building Frankfurt 2008.

Alex holds a Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Anthropology from the University of California at Santa Cruz and Master of Architecture from Columbia University, where he received the Honor Award for Excellence in Design. He also holds an Honorary Diploma from the Tecnoligico De Monterrey, Mexico City.
